Thanks to PAA I was able to do two of things that I love doing the most at the same time: dance and travel. The dance modules that I took in Roehampton challenged me as a dancer with no technique. During the last quarter of my year in London, I managed to be a part of Company 68 (of Studio 68 London) as an understudy. This wouldn’t be possible if not for PAA!
“I could not have asked for a better placement in London. I was able to get experience in all aspects of the business, and manage my own projects. The people were friendly and really made me feel like a valued member of the team. I had an incredible time, and really made contacts that will help me for the rest of my career.”
“Interning in a Theatre in London was one of my favorite summer experiences because I got the chance to meet and work with so many talented artists within the Theatre. I loved learning the differences between an American Theatre and a London Theatre. It was a great opportunity for me to travel, see art, and meet new people. I already miss it! It was truly a once in a life time opportunity!”
“Performing Arts Aboard provided me with a wonderful opportunity to connect with theatre professionals within London, while also allowing me to further my knowledge and skills. I was able to partake in a placement that was aligned with my interest and that taught me a great deal about myself and where I would like my future career to go. The onsite staff were all incredibly helpful and supportive, making my time during my placement an amazing experience.”
“My time in London was absolutely incredible. I learned so much that I wouldn’t have been able to learn back home or anywhere else. Besides doing what I love and working with professionals I also got to share my passion with the wonderful people I met through the program. Not only from the U.S, but Germany, Italy, Canada, Switzerland, Finland, Australia, and Hong Kong. Being able to have experienced so much in three short weeks was amazing and I encourage anyone interested to do it.”
“This was an amazing program. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in theatre. I learned so much valuable information and met some amazing and talented people. Experiencing London not only as a tourist but also living there was and being immersed in West End was amazing.”
“Everyone during the trip was incredible, including but not limited to the RADA Faculty, the PAA staff (hats off to Ms. Anna Bermani) who was on-site constantly to assist with anything needed, and I would heavily recommended it to anyone who wants to go across the Atlantic and immerse themselves in a culturally-vibrant, theatre-loving environment.”
“I found this program really fun and it was great to get a taste of a city I’ve always wanted to visit : London! I made lifelong friendships and had some amazing experices!! I would definitely recommend studying abroad through PAA!”
“I had a wonderful time in this program, I was introduced to many new things and was kept very active throughout the whole trip. I liked getting to work with professionals in the acting industry in London, it made me realize that I have more options than just the states for work.”
“I loved the RADA short summer course! I know more about acting and theatre than before the program started and I’ve met some amazing people whom I’ve created friendships with! Not only did I get to learn from teachers at one of the most prestigious drama schools in the world, but I also got the chance to explore a city with an incredible history, immerse myself in its culture, and gain a new piece of global perspective. This was a great experience that I’m glad and grateful to have had and wouldn’t trade it for anything. I thoroughly enjoyed myself the whole time. A dream come true and quite inspiring, really.”
My semester at Roehampton was a life-changing experience. With the incredible help of PAA, I was able to spend five indescribable months studying theatre in London. I met people from all over the world, saw game-changing theatre all over the city, and learned so much not only about theatre, but also myself.
“I really enjoyed this program. You will learn a lot about the theatre industry and what it is actually like to work as an actor. It was incredible to work with actual West End performers and learn from their experiences. My favorite thing about this program, though, was going with a group of other people and getting to know them over the course of the three weeks. You really become like a family and grow as performers together. It made the experience so much more worthwhile to come out of it with friends who share your passion for the art form.”
I loved this program. I learned more than I possibly imagined I could in two weeks. The training was exceptional. The teachers were extremely commuted to us and friendly. Our location was great and the group was awesome. The schedule was perfect, as it was demanding while giving us time to have fun in London. The shows we saw were strong. Just overall an awesome experience that I’ll never forget.
“Having the opportunity to work with professionals that were currently performing in West End shows was so unique, and it really helps you learn what they have to do on a daily basis. We got to learn choreography from active West End shows, and then in some cases went to see the shows and could see what we’d learned being performed.”
