Composition Seminar

This course is an intensive directed study in Composition for a small ensemble in an open seminar. The expected outcome of the course is the composition of work, which will be performed, videotaped and recorded in the concert hall upon the completion of the program. The seminar includes short lectures, listening, analysis, score study and daily reviews of students’ work. The class aims to enable students to grasp key principles relating to form, style, tone-color and rhetoric and to expand their knowledge of writing for the selected instruments of the ensemble.
