This module is designed both to accommodate the specialist research interests and expertise of academic staff, researchers, or visiting scholars, and to enable students to engage with contemporary research in drama, theatre and performance studies. It will engage with current thought, practice, and critical analyses of the discipline of drama, theatre and performance studies. Through close involvement with research by the module tutor, students will explore selected issues at the forefront of the field. Through engaging with tutor-led research, students will follow a syllabus designed around specific research-led case studies, in order to understand how research projects are developed and shaped. This module will offer students a sense of progression beyond the BA degree, by encouraging increased awareness of the disciplinary field and of the options for postgraduate or vocational further experience.
