Dance Internship in Spain

Deepen your understanding of international dance and expand your own skills as a performer through an internship with a dance organization in Barcelona, Spain. You’ll gain professional experience while becoming immersed in the vibrant culture of Barcelona’s dance scene.

Overview

Spend six weeks or longer interning with a dance studio in the heart of Barcelona for at least 20 hours per week. We work with a wide variety of dance organizations, and handpick each specific placement based on your interests as captured in your application through a detailed questionnaire, as well as a Skype interview.

Performing Arts Abroad intern abroad participants are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to take on a self-driven capstone project to complement their internship experience. This is a unique opportunity for you to complete a project of your own design and choosing with the guidance of a PAA advisor. In the end, you’ll feel a deeper connection to your international internship experience, and you’ll produce something that demonstrates your professional aptitude, what you have learned, and what you have contributed to your host organization.

For more specific information about our placements and a typical day on this program, please see the “Host Group” tab.
