Performance Documentation
This module takes a critical look at issues and problems associated with the documentation of live and/or ephemeral events, and offers students the opportunity to research, analyse and develop their own creative and performative solutions in practice. The module will explore a range of diverse performance practices focusing on the subsequent documentation of these practices. Examples of documentation practices such as: historical archival documentation, oral traditions of story-telling, photography, video, artists’ books, and other examples of creative documentation practice will be analysed and approached critically. Students will research questions of methodology and archiving before attempting a creative documentation project.
