Special Topic: Archival Encounters: Traces of Performance in Theory and Practice

This module is consciously placed in the choreography stream of study to reflect the nature of ‘real-time composition’ involved in contemporary improvisation practice. It will provide opportunities for students to broaden their choreographic experience through the development and performance of improvised scores alongside the continuous investigation of the generation, definition and refinement of movement ideas. Students should be prepared to engage physically, imaginatively and intellectually with the rigors of performing choreography as spontaneous composition.
