Performance and Live Art

The module aims to introduce students to the main issues and emerging trends in performance and live art, through an extended engagement with practitioners and theoreticians in the field, including performative practices of photography, film, video, digital art and political activism. Focusing on North American and European work from the 1960s to the present day, the module will introduce students to an interdisciplinary mode of performance, drawing on theories and practices from fine art, dance, poetry and music.
