One of the unique aspects of Performing Arts Abroad is our ability to customize a program for groups. Whether you are a university faculty looking to lead a student trip or a member of a community arts group hoping to create an informative and exciting tour, we would love to help you develop your program. As long as you know where you want to travel and what discipline you are interested in, we can do the rest.

Performing Arts AbroadPerforming Arts abroad will arrange:
• Bookings, scheduling, and development of trip itinerary
• In-country transportation (including airport pickup and drop-off)
• Welcome orientation upon arrival in country
• Housing
• Excursions
• Cultural activities
• 24-hour in-country emergency support
• Pre-departure orientation
• Preparation of literature and articles for participants

PAA has the capacity to develop a customized program in many countries throughout the world. We also offer the option to send a PAA staff person on your customized trip to lead the program while in your destination country. The minimum length of time for a customized program is two weeks and there is no maximum length of time.

Examples of customized programs:

1. Immersive theater trip to Kenya
• Designed for college students and recent college graduates
• Two-week program for 8 participants in Nairobi that culminates in collaborative community performance
• All accommodations and in-country transportation arranged, along with evening cultural activities and a weekend excursion to nearby beach city
• Opportunity to learn African dance, drumming, and drama from community theater organization and to lead workshops at community center

2. Opera tour of Italy
• Designed for members of city opera company
• Three-week program for 15 participants that tours Milan, Venice, and Rome
• Accommodation and transportation arranged, along with lectures by Italian music professors and performances at La Scala and other famous opera houses
• Opportunity to perform a small recital for an Italian community opera group

3. Comprehensive dance training in Thailand
• Designed for a dance professor as a summer college course
• Three-week program for 12 students in Bangkok that studies both classical and folk dance as well as several regional Thai dances
• Housing and transportation organized, in addition to dance performance outings, cultural activities, and a weekend trip to Khao Yai National Park
• Guest instruction from Thai dance faculty, access to world-class facilities, and an intensive dance schedule that culminates in an recital at the end of the program

 

4. Spanish Music in Madrid and Barcelona

• Designed for college music students in orchestra course for a winter term trip
• Three-week program for 12 participants that includes immersive music experiences in Madrid and Barcelona
• All housing, transportations, and excursions arranged, along with lectures from conductors in Barcelona
• Workshops with music professors in Madrid, students put on orchestra performances for Spanish music students, attending concerts and recitals along with other cultural activities
