Frances Hyson

Frances is in charge of all volunteers and interns in White River, and acts as their day-to-day main point of contact. For interns, she acts as their main supervisor and creates a customized schedule and training plan with each one. For all participants, she leads an orientation to the program and city, coordinates schedules, and is always available to address any issues that arise.

Frances Hyson, now running the Casterbridge Music Development Academy in Mpumalanga, South Africa, has been involved in many aspects of education for many years: initially, a teacher of children in their first years of school and later as an administrator – as head of a department and as a deputy head of a large private school in White River. For the past 7 years, Frances has been involved in adult education, working with a programme aimed at uplifting and improving the qualifications of drivers employed in a courier company.

Frances is passionate about the community in which she lives and is an active member of the local Rotary Club engaged in many projects to improve the lives of people living in the local communities. She is currently the president of the Rotary Club of White River. She and her husband have lived in White River for 40 years and they have one daughter and two grandchildren also living in the same town.
